Professional Biography

Sanjeev Gupta is a well-known physiotherapist with expertise in trans-disciplinary innovation in therapeutics, electrotherapy modalities, orthopaedic rehabilitation, chest physiotherapy and manual/literature designing. He has taught and guided research in these domains for more than 22 years including professional practice. He was part of an international project of development of a mobile app on strike based on android and IOS platform ‘Stroke Riskometer’, AUT Auckland.

Prior to taking up the current role in 2019, Sanjeev Gupta has served as Director for more than 10 years of the Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Physiotherapy, New. Delhi. Previous to this, he was Principal of the Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and Allied Sciences, New Delhi. He has traversed a journey covering spectral aspects of professional career ranging from policy, administration, Principal, Associate Professor, Reader and Lecturer, Consultant etc. during his employment with several premiere institutions.

He is a Graduate from National Institute for the Orthopaedically Handicapped (NIOH) Calcutta. He specializes in Orthopaedics (MPT- Musculoskeletal) from SIPAS, HNB Garhwal University. He is registered with Delhi Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. He is also Life Member of the Indian Association of Physiotherapist. He has been Member Board of Academic – Jamia Hamdard (Presently) and GGS Indraprastha University (Formerly).

Current Research

Sanjeev Gupta has invented a novel tool ‘Bodygraph’ for physiotherapy/ orthopaedic assessment. He has also written several consulting manuals and teaching cases. Sanjeev is currently pursuing an International research study in collaboration with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Geneva, Switzerland. The title of the proposed study is to construct and validate a questionnaire for gap analysis QGA)’ between physical therapy practice and ICRC physical therapy standards of practice specific to humanitarian settings in Indian context.
