It is said that “Necessity is the Mother of Inventionâ€. Parth Mahajan, who will be entering the final year of B Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering) program at GD Goenka School of Engineering, has proved it true again. As a student, Parth found it time consuming to go to different course websites and accessing class notes, assignments and important updates etc. From there, the idea of making a one stop solution came to his mind and under the able guidance of his mentor Mr. Kushagra Agrawal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, he developed an android app named ‘G-Connect’.The app congregates all online resources of the GD Goenka University, which can be accessed through this single interface your mobile phones.
This application has two modules. First module is for the existing students for accessing their current stats, whereas the second module is for prospective students who are looking to seek admissions or for some useful information about the University, faculty, news & events, location and contact information etc. Apart from the students and faculty members of the University, it also connects the outside world with the GD Goenka University. Hence the name: G-Connect.
In a country where projects in undergraduate engineering degrees generally have to wait till the last semester, it is the project-based learning approach of the GD Goenka School of Engineering since the very first day of engineering education that has yielded such results. It is important for the professional growth of the students to know how they can apply what they study. GD Goenka School of Engineering takes pride in instilling such skill sets in its students.
G-Connect is now available on google play store for free download, the link for which is:
