GD Goenka University, School of Law, Gurgaon, Haryana, organised the 1st Edition of the GD Goenka International Moot Court Competition, 2016. It was organized at the University campus from 11th March, 2016 (Friday) to 13th March, 2016 (Sunday). Every Law School is known by its mooting activity and we, here at the GD Goenka University treat mooting to be a part of our culture as this 1st Edition of the GD Goenka International Moot Court competition is just the beginning.
This year, a total of 36 teams have participated for the event from various colleges and universities across the country. It is noteworthy to mention that teams from eight National Law Universities competed in this competition, ranging from National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU), National Law University Odisha (NLUO), The National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi (NUALS), National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA), Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam (DSNLU), Chanakya National Law University, Patna (CNLU), Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, (GNLU), Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL) and National Law University, Delhi.
In addition, the competition also saw participation from reputed Law Colleges and Universities such as Campus Law Center, University of Delhi, Amity Law School, Delhi, Faculty of Law, Bhanaras Hindu University (BHU), Christ University, Bengaluru, Institute of Law, Nirma University Gujrat, Government Law College, Mumbai, ILS Law College Pune, School of Law, KIIT University, Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida, Symbiosis Law School, Pune etc.
The Chief Guest for the Inaugural function was, Honable Mr. Justice A. P. Shah, Former Chief Justice, Madras & Delhi High Court & Former Chairperson, Law Commission of India.
