The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is India’s leading stock exchange covering various cities and towns across the country. NSE was set up by leading institutions to provide a modern, fully automated screen-based trading system with national reach. The Exchange has brought about unparalleled transparency, speed & efficiency, safety and market integrity. It has set up facilities that serve as a model for the securities industry in terms of systems, practices and procedures.
BBA Semester VI students visited NSE, New Delhi for a corporate visit. The one and a half hour session was conducted by Mr Tyagi. The session started off understanding the need for setting up the National Stock Exchange in the 1990s and the problems associated with exchanges and trading back then. Mr Tyagi also briefed on common terminologies used in respect of stock trading such as financial derivatives, risk management, trading, clearing and settlements etc. It was well presented in set categories that allowed the students to gain thorough knowledge regarding the operations that take place at one of the biggest stock exchanges of the world.
