On day 1 of the Module, i.e. 26th September 2018, the students were introduced to settlement level history of Delhi, its topography, selection criteria etc through a highly interaction based puzzle game wherein they understand the context of the settlement in relation to each period of significant change in the built fabric history of Delhi. After which the students were suppose to make idiograms of the settlement pattern of Mehrauli based on a mental map.



On day 2 of the Module, i.e. 27th September 2018, the students went to Qutb Minar Complex where Ms. Smita Dutta Makhija introduced the students to Mehrauli and its subsequent development through the periods of History. The students understood the progression through quick sketches at different parts of the complex. Ar. Smita also took the students to Jahaz Mahal, Hauz-i-Shamsi and the Mughal period Jharna where they described stories, feelings about their whole journey of the day and the importance of Heritage according to their perspective.



On day 3 of the Module, i.e. 28th September 2018, the students will deal with evolution of typologies of the built fabric and spaces along with layering of each period development on an older layer to generate the urban fabric we see today through Qutub complex study of the three layered area ie the Qila Lal Kot, Qila Rai Pithora and the Sultanate Qutub complex. The students will be able to identify distinct developments of architectural styles, artistic traditions and transformation in the ways of living.
