Enabling and Nurturing Sustainable Entrepreneurial Ventures at 

G D Goenka University

International Conference on The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem attracted speakers from North America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia

March 19th & 20th, Gurgaon: School of Management, GD Goenka University, Gurgaon organized a virtual International Conference for industry and academia to interact on the unique theme of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems over two days. The conference endeavored to provide a much-needed dialogue between entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and the best brains in academia from across the world. The academic partner for the conference was the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad.

Dr. Suku Bhaskaran, President, GDGU highlighted the role of School of Management in organizing international conferences on crucial themes to engage industry and academia. Dr. Tabrez Ahmed, VC, GDGU emphasized on how important entrepreneurship is for the economy. Renowned academics from global universities as well as entrepreneurs from across industry sectors were brought together on a common platform to discuss the entrepreneurial ecosystem; what it encompasses, and how to enrich it through consistent efforts by the various stakeholders. 

The forum deliberated two broad sub-themes:

  • Framework conditions for Entrepreneurial Ecosystems like Formal institutions, Culture, Physical Infrastructure and Demand conditions.

  • Systemic conditions for Entrepreneurial Ecosystems like Networks, Leadership, Finance, Talent, Knowledge and Support services/intermediaries.

The distinguished Keynote Speakers were Prof. Dr. Adela McMurray from Flinders University, Prof. Dr. Alexander Newman from Deakin University and Dr. Ali Iftikhar Choudhary affiliated with RMIT University Australia. The panelists consisted of reputed academicians like Prof. Dr. Krishan K. Pandey from O.P Jindal Global University, Prof. Dr Harini Mittal from City University of New York, Prof. Dr. Raman Gujral and Dr. Amit Kumar Dwivedi , both from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Prof. Anita Tripathy Lal and Dr. Shalini Taneja, both from  FORE School of Management and Prof. Dr. Sapna Popli from IMT Ghaziabad.

 The entrepreneurs/ intrapreneurs in the panels were Mr. Rajat Dang, Founder Ola Travels Inc. Canada, Mr. Shadab Khan, Regional Director from The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. Mohamed Jalloh, Business Manager of Vatebra in Sierra Leone and Ms. Dorota Cagiel, Executive Director Poland- India Connect Consulting Company.

The conference acted as a vital networking platform between renowned academicians, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and thought leaders from India and abroad to share their knowledge and expertise on the conference theme. More than 35 research scholars presented their original research papers, case studies and reviews through five parallel tracks during the conference. Overall, the ICEE 2021 enriched and extended the understanding of students and participants about the field of entrepreneurship.

The International Conference on The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: Enabling and nurturing sustainable ventures (ICEE) 2021 was held virtually at G D Goenka University on March 19th & 20th. This event provided an important platform for exchange of ideas and notions amongst industry experts and distinguished faculties of world-renowned universities.

Students and staff of GDGU participated in huge numbers to support the International Conference. Various research papers were presented throughout the course of two days with one panel discussion being held on each day.
