Workshop on resume building and interview skills conducted by Dr. G. P. Meena Resume building and interview skills play an important role in getting hired in any organization. In present times, a good resume increases the chances of being placed in good industries with a good salary. With this in mind a two days’ workshop was conducted by Dr. G P Meena, on ‘Resume building and Interview Skills’ for the passing out B. Sc Agriculture students on March 9 – 10, 2022.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Sahadeva Singh, Dean of SoAS who illustrated the power of a good resume and interview skills and encouraged them to avail this opportunity in grooming themselves for future placements. Following this, Dr. Meena emphasized the importance of a well-crafted resume in the job application process. He provided students with tips on how to present their skills, experience, and education in a clear and concise manner, and discussed the common mistakes that should be avoided when creating a resume.

Students also received guidance on how to prepare for job interviews, including tips on how to answer common interview questions and how to make a positive first impression. Dr. Meena discussed the importance of researching the company and the role beforehand, as well as the importance of dressing appropriately and maintaining good body language during the interview.

In addition to the lectures, students also developed their own resume and received constructive feedback. They also had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews and receive feedback on their performance. This provided students with hands-on experience and allowed them to practice their interview skills in a safe and supportive environment. 

In conclusion, the workshops on resume building and interview skills, conducted by Dr. Meena, provided valuable insights and guidance for students to prepare for job applications. By learning how to create an effective resume and perform well in job interviews, students will be better equipped to make a strong impression and increase their chances of securing employment in their field.
