Awareness regarding SVEEP (Systematic Voters\' Education and Electoral Participation)

The elections for the HaryanaLegislative Assembly are scheduled for 21st October 2019. To create awareness among voters the Gurgaon District Administration took the initiative to reach out to the voters by conducting a session on creating Awareness regarding SVEEP (Systematic Voters\' Education and Electoral Participation) on October 18, 2019at GDGU. Students and faculty members of SOED participated in this session. The chief guests Mr. Ashok Sangwan (IAS, DivisionalCommissioner Gurugram), Lokesh Rajput (District SVEEPAmbassador), and Manish Sharma (youth icon) were welcomed by our studentswitha traditional tilak ceremony. This was followed by lighting of the lamp of knowledge and Saraswati Vandana. All our guests emphasised the importance of voting as responsible citizens and encouraged everyone to cast their vote in the upcoming Haryana elections. Student-teachers at SOED must understand and follow the ideals of a good citizen. They are expected to not only participate in the welfare of the nation, but also encourage others to follow their example to behave as responsible citizens.As future teachers they will be responsible for promoting the ideals of a democracy and  citizenship to the next generation.
