Engineer's Day Celebration

School of Engineering and Sciences, GD Goenka University celebrated Engineer's Day on 15 th September. To commemorate this occasion, SoES organized a Symposium on Digital Transformation. On this occasion, three renowned experts were invited as eminent speakers:

• Mr. Ramanathan M., Senior Manager - Academic Outreach & Strategy, Springer Nature
• Mr. Ankit Kaushal, Senior Software Engineer & Technology Head, Microsoft Corporation
• Ms. ShikhaMunjal, Associate Director at Fidelity International

Prof (Dr.) Naresh Sharma. Head SoES, welcomed the audience and apprised the audience about the
importance of Engineer’s Day and adopt good learning practices. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tabrez Ahmad welcomed all distinguished speakers and presented Mementoes and certificates to them. Prof. Ahmad discussed the new developments happening in area of AI and Blockchain. He reckoned the importance of Blockchain in financial applications and also the legal consequences of it. 

Mr. Ramanathan discussed Importance of Research, Technology & Science. He spoke about
contribution of India in Research and how researchers are contributing at Global level. Mr. Ankit Kaushal, delivered talk on the Evolution of Cloud Computing and how Cloud computing is a game changer in market domain. This was followed by talk by Ms. Shikha Munjal on power of data and how it is transforming the dynamics. The Convener for the event & Faculty In-Charge CSE, Dr. Jaspreet Singh, delivered a vote of thanks.

In the second half, a workshop by Coder’s club was organized on GraphQL by Mr. Rahul Bhardwaj,
B.Tech. Fourth year. The workshop received overwhelming response and students practiced hands-on on this domain. Students are very satisfied with the event. Most of the students termed the Symposium as Excellent and remarked that they gained great insight about career prospects from these talks. They want to participate in more such expert talks and workshops. More such talks and workshops from Industry experts on recent topics relevant to students will be planned.
