GD Goenka Memorial Lecture on Late Prabhash Joshi

GD Goenka University organized a lecture in memory of Late Prabhas Joshi on 27 April
2022. This lecture was organized under the GD Goenka Memorial Lecture Series. The
keynote speaker and eminent journalist Rahul Dev spoke about the values of Late Joshi and
the ideals set by him for journalism. Dev said that today the new generation of journalists
need to be trained by taking inspiration from the ideals for which Prabhasji lived his life. Dev
specially mentioned the life struggle of Prabhas Joshi and the sacrifice made for value based
journalism. Dev also said that today we need to think about how the real values of journalism
will be restored. Vice Chancellor of GD Goenka University Prof. Dr. Tabrez Ahmed said that
Joshi's contribution in the discharge of journalism and social responsibilities was invaluable.
Prof. Ahmed expressed his gratitude to Rahul Dev for the memorial lecture. Registrar Dr.
Dhirendra Singh Parihar said in the welcome address that it is a matter of pride for the
University to start this memorial lecture series with a personality like Prabhas Joshi. Many
eminent litterateurs, thinkers, teachers and researchers of the country participated in this
lecture series.
