Guest Lecture on Housing Design by eminent Architect S. K Das

School of Architecture and Planning organized a guest Lecture by highly renowned Architect and Urbanist S K Das sir on “Housing Design” for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year B.Arch students on 23rd March 2017 in B- Block Auditorium. The lecture was well attended by all the students and faculty of SoAP. The lecture enabled the students to understand housing as a process and not only a product for the people. He gave an insight to the students on all the design aspects and functions involved in designing of a housing such as zoning and creation of community spaces; integration of design with landscape elements and design spaces for inhabitants for future and not only for the present. Sir explained the entire process by presenting his live projects from across the country. The lecture was followed by individual discussion with 3rd year students on their housing projects. The students were greatly benefited by the lecture and it gave them a variety of fresh ideas for their design projects!!!
