INDIA ARTHRITIS AND OSTEOPOROSIS CONCLAVE, 2020

School of Medical and Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University in partnership with Bone and Joints Care Society and Indian Orthopedic Association – Delhi Chapter, and Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, organized “INDIA ARTHRITIS AND OSTEOPOROSIS CONCLAVE, 2020”. The Second edition of IAOC was held on October 11, 2020 at Taj Vivanta Ambassador, New Delhi. The Theme of the conference was 'Musculoskeletal Health in Covid Times', a highly pertinent theme for speculations and inquiries in the present-day context. With divine blessings to light more candles of knowledge, the session began. The distinguished Dignitaries and Physiotherapy stalwarts who rendered bejeweled knowledge and made every one brainstorm for new ideas included, Dr. Dhananjaya Gupta- Director, Orthopedics-Spine Surgery and Joint Replacement at Fortis, Dr. Sujeet Singh - Director, National Center for Disease Control, Dr. R.C. Meena - President Indian Orthopedic Association, Dr. Sharad Kumar Aggarwal - President Delhi Orthopedic Association,  Dr. (Prof.) O P Sharma - General Secretary, Geriatric Society of India and Dr. Sanjeev Gupta -HOD, Physiotherapy Department, GD Goenka University. Their voices of wisdom echoed the intertwined concerns falling under the umbrella of Musculoskeletal Health and their cultivated perceptions opened new doors of intellectual contemplations for an evolved Healthcare ecosystem.

The session was a platform for highbrow discussions, covering an entire spectrum of themes, including the importance of MSK health, Psycho-Social impact of lockdown on MSK patients, How Covid scare has affected treatments, The Emerging role of Telemedicine, and Widening role of digital media in futuristic MSK care. Some other mind-boggling themes for deliberation included, Working from home or living with work- MSK perspective, and Dietary concerns in COVID-19 times for Optimum MSK Health and Nutrition. Senior Physiotherapists, Orthopaedic Surgeons and Heads of Indraprastha, Apollo Hospital, Trauma Centre AIIMS, Primus Super-Specialty Hospital, AIIMS New Delhi were a few to mention among the prominent resource persons who presented their remarkable presentations in the event, with masterly profoundness and genius.  The event culminated on a soaring note with shared bonds of knowledge, to be cherished for days to come. Many renowned clinicians and surgeons joined the conference virtually also, so as to double the joys of wisdom.
