INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO PARLE BISCUITS PVT. LTD.

The School of Management, GD Goenka University, organised an industrial visit to Parle
Biscuits factory at Bahadurgarh, India for First Semester section A students of MBA on 6 th
September, 2022.

Parle Agro is an offshoot of Parle Product, which was founded in 1929 in British India. It was owned by the Chauhan family of Vile Varle, Mumbai. The main head office of the company is situated in Mumbai. The first factory was established in 1929 in Mumbai. The company has two unit i.e., Mother Unit and Contractor Unit. The company have 7 mother unit (Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka) and 125 contractor unit.

The visit was coordinated by Dr Parul Sinha (Associate professor) and Dr Karina Bhatia Kakkar (Assistant professor) at SOM. The Bahadurgarh factory is build in 70 acres(approx.) of land. The parle plant has total production capacity of 3 to 5 tons per day. The visit started with brief presentation of the company by Ms Hanisha Dalal. She took students around various factory center and department and explained each major operation in detail. Student saw the state of art automated manufacturing process following strict quality control measures.

In the end Ms. Dalal addressed all questions of the students and explained about the career opportunities in this sector. The trip was very informative, enriching and provided great learning experience to the students. It gave students an exposure to the Multinational Company’s environment, its Production, Processing, Management, Human Resource Development and Environment concerns. Students learned about the Quality Standards and Practices and got a holistic view of the company’s processes and strategies
