Investiture Ceremony at School of Law, G D Goenka University

For smooth functioning of the law school and to ensure maximum involvement of students in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities following student committees have been formed. These committees would have a student convener and a co-convener and would have faculty coordinators for overall guidance.
The Legal Aid Committee is constituted to provide free and competent legal service to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen. Recently School of Law has adapted one village near Badshahpur to impart basic legal education and to make them aware of their rights.
The Moot Court Committee is constituted to raise the standard of clinical legal education in India, the GD Goenka University, school of Law regularly hosts Moot Court Competitions and encourages law students from across country and abroad to unlearn, learn and relearn skills of advocacy.
The Debating Society is a very crucial committee as debate is a rigorous exercise in critical thinking that enables young minds build effective communication skills that are necessary in an increasingly competitive world.
The Sports Committee is expected to bring discipline, assertiveness, ability to work as a team and a willingness to compete without fear of failure amongst the students. Playing any kind of sport brings out the leader in you.
Internship Committee is the most important committee as it oversees the internships and placement for the students of law. This committee is oriented towards placing the students in institutions of repute thereby increasing the prospects of internship in various legal institutions
The Cultural Committee is responsible for the fun factor during the students\' college life with the belief that a college should have its equal share of fun & frolic along with the case studies.
The oath taking ceremony/Investiture ceremony was organized on 25th October whereby badges and sashes were presented to the student conveners and co-conveners of the different committees.
It was a matter of great pride for all students and faculty members to pledge towards overall development of the School of Law. The Investiture ceremony has instilled a sense of duty and responsibility in all the students to take the name of their school to new and bigger heights.
