Dr Edd Pitt is the Programme Director for the Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and Senior Lecturer in Higher Education and Academic Practice at the Centre for the Study of Higher Education, University of Kent (United Kingdom). Dr Pitt earned his PhD from Liverpool University (United Kingdom). Dr Pitt is also a Visiting Fellow at Deakin University (Australia) within the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning. Prior to joining the University of Kent, Dr Pitt was with Liverpool Hope University (United Kingdom).

Dr Edd Pitt’s principal research field is assessment and feedback with a focus upon staff and student emotional processing during feedback. In his most recent research, he engaged with academics in the UK and Australia to advance knowledge on how educators and students develop feedback literacy. Dr Pitt’s other research interests are in technology adoption in higher education, and curriculum development in higher education.

Dr Edd Pitt has academic experience of more than 25 years. He is widely published in top-tier journals such as Active Learning in Higher Education, Assessment & Evaluation in Higher Education, and Innovative Assessment in Higher Education.
