National Seminar on Crime Scene Investigation: A standpoint of the Forensic Experts 4 th March, 2022

School of Engineering and Science, GD Goenka University organized a National Seminar on ‘Crime Scene Investigation: A Standpoint of the Forensic Experts’ on 4 th March, 2022. The participants of the seminar were students of Forensic Science, Biological Sciences, Engineering and Law from inside and outside of the university.

The participants of the seminar were students of Forensic Science, Biological Sciences, Engineering and Law from inside and outside of the university.

The seminar started with lamp lighting session by the dignitaries and with the cultural program by the students. Session I of the seminar witnessed the expert talk of Dr. Rajinder Singh, who discussed about the scientific investigation of Crime & Crime Scene. The talk of Dr. Rajinder emphasized the importance of various principles of forensic science and Photography. Dr. Singh shared his experience of crime scene investigation by giving various case examples he had handled throughout his working career. Some of the cases explained were Panchkula case - Mr Satbir Singh , Inspector Badri Prasad case , Dr. Satpal case , Bhanwari Devi case , Sophian case (2009). During Session II poster competition was held where students presented their work.

Session III witnessed the prominent Dr. Harsh Sharma who gave a lecture on the “Silent witness speaks out at the scene of the crime”. He talked about the forensic science, physical evidence, ante mortem and post mortem blood, natural and unnatural deaths with the illustrative examples. He shared his research on how “blood speak in the volume” and how the fact do not lie, but men can do. He also talked about the difference between murder and suicide cases. The session ended on thanks note and distribution of certificate of awards to the winners of poster competition.
