Orientation Day 9, 2021

Today’s orientation program on 9 September 2021 was opened to the students with a pertinent panel discussion on career avenues in different allied healthcare programs being opted by the students of fresh batch. The panelist included heads of various Department of School of Medical and Allied Sciences and industry experts Dr. Nishant Gemini HOD & senior consultant Primus super speciality Hospital & Deepti Verma, Head Nutrition VLCC ltd. Joined the session and shared their thoughts on conventional-and emerging career opportunities in these fields. 

The program progressed into an enlightening session by Dr. Anil sharma, Assistant Professor, SoMAS on Case study and simulation based teaching.

Following this an introduction of university’s ERP & websim online portal was explained to the students by Abhishek sharma Assistant Professor, SoMAS students were demonstrated for examination registration/ results and form filling etc on prototype.

The experience of life at G D Goenka University can't be told any better than by its current students. To provide a common platform for new and senior students, a special interaction was organised. This introductory session provided a bioscope view of life at GDGU, which is a must-see feature of the orientation programme.

The end of the day happened with a Live webinar on “Uncovering Customer and Firm Insights Using Unstructured Data “ by Dr.Abhishek Borah of INSEAD, visiting faculty Wharton School Of Business, Moderated by Dr.Deepti Wadera,Associate Professor, SoM. Session entailed understanding of how unstructured data is analysed using various algorithms and machine learning. Visual verses web search and analysis of various categories for the same used by companies. It indeed instilled a spark amongst us all!
