Orientation Programme 2017 at School of Education (SoEd)

The first day of a brand new journey at School of Education (SoEd) for the incoming batch of new students of various programmes was memorable. The Orientation Programme at SoEd was conducted from August 28-30, 2017.Day One of the orientation programme was momentous with registration of new students, allotment of mentors, enrolment in Board of Student Activities (BSA) and interaction between parents and Leadership team of G D Goenka University.Day Two of the Orientation Programme was yet another eventful day at School of Education.It began with traditional tilak ceremony which was followed by morning prayer. Prof. (Dr.) Reva Raina, Dean, School of Education gave the welcome address and blessed the students. This was followed by introduction of faculty and coordinators at SoEd.Mr. Sanjay Yadav, Principal, G D Goenka Public School, VasantKunj, New Delhi motivated the students with his guest lecture. His session was extremely engaging and enriching.Sessions were conducted by the faculty on course structures, time-table and credit requirements for various programmes. In addition, students were guided on IDP, BSA registrations, and volunteering for membership in G D Goenka Centre for Leadership and Social Responsibility. The day concluded with an interactive mentor-mentee session. On the final day of the orientation programme, team building activities, games and introduction by new students were organized during the ice breaking session. Post –lunch session was conducted in the university auditorium commencing with welcome address by Dr.Nitesh Bansal, Registrar, G D Goenka University. It was followed by address by Prof. (Dr.) Shrihari, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the university. Students were briefed on the university regulations and examination system, discipline and anti-ragging measures by Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar, Dean Academics. The programme concluded with registration in student clubs at GDGU and the session on the same was conducted by Prof.(Dr.) TanujaKaushik, Associate Dean, Student Welfare.
