GD Goenka School of management organised an important Session on CMIE ProwessIQ for MBA Final Year Students on Mon, Jan 10th as a part of orientation and re-registration for the new Jan-Jun semester for 2022. The session was taken by Mr. Sudarshan Negi, the Business Development Manager of CMIE. The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy Pvt Ltd, or CMIE for short, was set up in 1976. CMIE has accumulated the largest database on the financial performance of individual companies; it conducts the largest survey to estimate household incomes, pattern of spending and savings; it runs a unique monitoring of new investment projects on hand and it has created the largest integrated database of the Indian economy. One of CMIE's premium offerings is ProwessIQ. It is an interactive querying system that runs on the Prowess database. The Prowess database contains financial performance data of around 50,000 Indian companies. It contains data from 1989. The MBA Final Year students found the session extremely relevant and useful considering the fact that they are in the midst of writing their Final Year Dissertation.
