The theme was “Sun and Sand: Mediterranean”  The posters and invitations were on display at all the prominent student joints, refectory, dining hall, hostel, and the students were eagerly waiting for the Freshers’ Party, Reva 2019, scheduled for September 13, 2019. What an evening it was! When the students entered the venue, the energy was infectious. The enthusiasm for the in-house freshers’ party was truly spectacular. The event was graced by the presence of four judges. Two eminent personalities from the fashion industry - Ms. Alisha Gupta, a fashion entrepreneur and Mr.RaghavGirdhar, a fashion blogger. Two alumnus of the University - Mr.Santandeep Singh and Mr.ManasDawar. Santandeep was conferred as Mr. Fresher GDGU batch 2015, Mr.Goneka 2017, Mr. Delhi finalist 2018 and Student of the Year for 2015-19 batch. ManasDawar was conferred as Mr.Goenkan 2019. He was the Captain of the GDGU basketball team. He won 13 golds and was awarded with ‘best player’ thrice for the university in National Basketball tournaments.

The evening opened with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) SukuBhaskaran, President, GDGoenka University. This was followed by ramp walk and talent hunt rounds for the selected candidates participating in the Miss and Mr.Freshers Competition. Many lively performances by many students from different clubs were also performed. The students from literary club did the anchoring of the event and recited poems. Music Club students sung some really melodious songs. The students were all ears for the medley of some golden and timeless songs. The Dance club students enthralled the audience with their foot tapping numbers.

In the end of the event, the following students were awarded by Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik, Dean Student Welfare & International Relations as MissFresher and Mr.Fresher:

All the finalists were felicitated with a finalist trophy. The show ended with refreshments and a DJ evening where the students put on their dancing shoes and were seen happily dancing and enjoying themselves. The event’s grand success was the result of team work of the Board of Student Activities office bearers, volunteers and faculty advisors who worked tirelessly and took care of decoration, anchoring, logistics, performances and venue management under the guidance and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik, Dean Student Welfare & International Relations.
