The 2 Days Student Development Program on ‘Exploring Forensic Science’ conducted on October 12-13, 2021. The session started with Dean’s address. Prof. (Dr.) Usha Batra explained the importance of Forensic Science and congratulated the organizers. Head of the Department, DBAS, Dr. Naresh Sharma motivated the students to actively participate in the event. Mr. Don Caeiro, Assistant Professor, Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru, delivered a lecture on cyber-crime and cyber security and Dr. Neeharika Srivastava explained the need of crime scene processing for successful investigations. Later remained the hands on session by Ms. Mala Bharti who explained the sexual dimorphism using skull. After the lunch break students enthusiastically participated in extempore competition. The session ended at 4:00 pm.

The second day of SDP started with a lecture by Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Assistant Director (Physics Division), Rajasthan Forensic Science Laboratory who briefed the various scope of Forensic Science. Mr. Baljeet Yadav explained the importance of UV Visible Spectrophotometry and its importance in Forensic Science. Later Ms. Ruby briefed the students about development techniques of fingerprint in the hands on session. After lunch students presented the case studies. The valedictory session ended at 4:20 pm where winners for extempore competition were Karuna, Diksha and Sonal and in case studies presentation, Richa, Shivani and Vashistha stood first, second and third, respectively. Winners received certificate of appreciation at the end of ceremony. Dr Naresh Sharma concluded the session thanking the speaker, students and all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
