On October 11, 2019, GD Goenka University was vibrant withyoung entrepreneurs, busy with their own business ventures for the 7thedition of Udyami Bazaar - The Genesis of Student Entrepreneurship, organized by GD Goenka Technology Business Incubator, in short, GDGTBI in association with MSME Technology Development Centre, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. There was an air of excitement all around.Guest of Honour of the day was Mr. Indrajeet Yadav, Deputy Director, MSME Technology Development Centre. Honourable Guest, Mr. Yadav along with the President of GD Goenka University, Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran and Head, GDGTBI and Dean, Student Welfare and International Relations, Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik inaugurated the event.Invited guest, Mr. A. Awasthi, Training Coordinator, MSME Technology Development Centre, Govt. of India along with Deans and Officials of the University were also present.

The President welcomed the gathering.During his speech, the honourable guest, Mr. Indrajeet Yadav appreciated the initiative taken by GD Goenka University to organize Udyami Bazaar and also briefed the audience about the work undertaken by MSME to promote entrepreneurship; MSME was happy to support this event organized by GD Goenka Technology Business Incubator. President, Prof. (Dr.) Suku Bhaskaran and Head, GDGTBI, Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik felicitated the Chief Guest and the invited guests from MSME. This year, alumni of GD Goenka University were members of the jury panel. They were Mr. Nasir Khan, Sarpanch of Bijopur village, Faridabad;Pallavi Malhotra,Founder & CEO of ‘Evente’; Adih Muskaan Saif , Director of Operations - Arcos Group of Companies andNeha Bhanot, Founder of café ‘Daily Dose – Eat Play Read’. All of them were also felicitated.

Splendid and livelyperformances by Dance club, along with the Dramatic club’s Nukkad Natakset the tone for Udyami Bazaar 2019.Udyami Bazaar is a platform for students toshowcase their entrepreneurialability, creativity and marketing skill.Around75 stalls with about 200 students were registered for the event. Enthusiastic studentsvolunteeredwillinglyin various stalls. Students from GD Goenka University as well as from other institutes participated. Stalls had a variety of food, games, accessories etc. Few stalls emphasised on sustainable products like jute bags whereas game stalls kept entertaining the customers.It was good to see young generation put up stalls to promote environmental wellbeing and do business.Young entrepreneurs were busy promoting their products. The ground was lively with visitors to the various stalls and a rhythmic DJ corner.

A panel of judges, visited the stalls and judged each one of themon the basis of their marketing, management, crowd attraction, innovation and creativity.After an entire day of business activity with our young entrepreneurs, it was the time to declare the prizes.The categories were Most Popular Stall, MostInnovative Marketing Stall and Most Well ManagedStall. Total prizes worth ₹50000/ was awarded to winner along with first and second runner-up for each category.

Head, GDGTBI, Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik and the judges, presented the awards. The winner for the Most Innovative Marketing went to the stall  owned by Rashmiand Neha; Tarangini Waderaand Amit Bhattacharjee won the 1strunner-up trophy and Aditi Bahuguna and Ajeet Khurana won 2nd runner-up trophy. The stall hosted by Issac Russell and Anshuman bagged winner’s trophy in the Most Well Managed Stall category; 1strunner-up trophy was won by Kanchan Khatana  and Himanshu Singhand 2nd runner-up trophy won by Rohit Gautam. Finally, the award was announced for Most Popular Stall. Winners were Aryan Verma and Arpita Joshi;Mehak Goel and Muskan Bhatiareceived the 1st runner-up trophy and the 2nd runner-up trophy was won by Pratap Kumar and Tinku Chauhan. Appreciation award were given to the two students who hosted the DJ corner.Each participant of Udyami Bazaar 2019, was recognized with a Certificate of Participation. The event closed with group photo of the entire team who worked hard under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik to make the event a grand success.
