Understanding Behaviour of White Crime Criminals

An online guest lecture was organized by the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences (Forensic science), SoES on ‘Understanding Behaviour of White Crime Criminals’ on 29th September 2021. The speaker Dr. Vipin Vijay Nair is working as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences at O.P. Jindal University. He is also affiliated with organisations like World Society of Victimology, American Society of Criminology, British Society of Criminology, Indian Society of Criminology, Indian Criminology & Forensic Science Association and others. Dr. Nair explained various theories associated with financial crime, fraud risk and fraud assessment. He made the students understand the concept of red flags, types of corporate frauds, online frauds and explained case studies of scandals like Bernie Madoff and Enron Scandal. He also briefed the participants about various conditions for industrial frauds. Students participated in both, online and offline mode to attend the session and resolved their queries at the end. Participants found the session very interesting and informative. The session concluded with thanking the speaker, students and all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
