WEBINAR ON “Career Prospects in Mechanical Engineering” 20 July 2020 at 4:00 PM

A departmental webinar was conducted in order to enhance online learning skills of our faculties and students. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is hosting on ' Career Prospects in Mechanical Engineering” Resource persons: Mr. Akhand Pratap Singh, Former SAE India Officer & Project Manager, Cummins India Ltd, Pune, M. H. For this Webinar, google meet link was created. The link was circulated among students and faculties of school of engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics departments and SAE members. More than 40 participants both Teaching Faculty Members and Students have participated. The event started with an inaugural address by student Akshay Antal and Dr Pankaj Dubey, Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, GD Goenka University Sohna, Gurgaon. Dr. Dubey extended his warm welcome to the participants and Resource Persons of the Webinar.

Mr. Akhand Pratap Singh completed his graduation from RGPV Bhopal in Mechanical engineering and and joined SAE as regional officer. During that time, he was instrumental in organizing the BAJA event in India as per international standards. Post that he had a short stint with Mahindra 2 Wheelers for close to 1.5 year as operation manager. Post that he has been working with Cummins as project manager. He is the leading expert in the field of Automobile Engineering. He has 11 years industrial experiences in the field of automobile. He is also core committee member of SAE India Indore division. He highlighted about the future career options for students in mechanical engineering. He also stressed on many opportunities, advantages and limitations associated with the field. He encouraged the students to think positively and be patient, which would help make right decisions. The talk focused on the career path for Mechanical engineers in industries and PSU. It was a beneficial activity for all students as the response after the talk was very positive. The mechanical engineering students were keen in observing the presentation and many of them interacted with the speaker. He also elaborated about the Project Management.
