School of Medical and Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University in alliance with Artemis Hospital organized a Breast Cancer Detection and Health Screening Camp on the occasion of World Cancer Day on February04, 2022. The prime objective was to spread awareness about the significance of Breast Cancer Screening and its direct relationship with early detection that can save lives. In women, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death. A team of experts from Artemis Hospital received a warm welcome from the Honorable Dignitaries of GD Goenka University. A Mammography test, physical screening tests and consultation with specialists were the main highlights of the camp. 65 patients were medically screened and 15 patients underwent mammography examination. Breast Cancer Awareness literature was distributed to create awareness among people. A Facebook live session was also conducted on ‘Myths and facts about Breast Cancer’ by Cancer expert, Dr. Richu Sharma, Associate Consultant Medical Oncology, Artemis Hospital. The words of wisdom shared by her echoed the intertwined concerns falling under the umbrella of Breast cancer and their cultivated perceptions opened new doors of intellectual contemplations for an evolved Healthcare ecosystem. The event culminated with shared bonds of knowledge about the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
