WORLD PHARMACISTS DAY 2019

With rich smiles and proud spirits, School of Medical & Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University, Gurugram celebrated the World Pharmacists Day on September 25, 2019 with an aim to ensure safe and effective medicines for all, echoing the theme of this year. Event started with the motivating and inspiring speech by Prof. (Dr.) RohitDutt, Associate Dean, SoMAS. He apprised the audience about the current advancements in pharmacy practice and importance of life long learning in maintaining the pace with ever increasing challenges. Students and staff members enthusiastically pledged Pharmacist Oath with a promise to follow ethical practices. In order to make students aware about ‘Career Avenues in Marketing and Sales”, an interactive session was organized by Mr. Ashwani Chawla, Director- Grevis Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram. A health camp was also organized by MOLQ laboratories effectively offering free and subsidized diagnostic tests. During the event, certified course entitled “Medical Sales Representative” was launched to mark some new beginnings in the Pharmacy domain. Students of pharmacy showed their expert knowledge by disseminating information on safe use of OTC drugs in the campus. There was an informative Skit performance filled with many dramatic colors, Cultural performances at the end accelerated the enthralling joy of the students attending the celebration. Finally, SoMAS expressed gratitude to all the students and staff members for their valuable support for the successful celebration of World Pharmacist Day, rendering an insight on social health care and well-being of patients.
