Hospitality Ethos

People often say hospitality industry is tough to work in, it is not for everyone. They say that the work life completely takes over your social life. They will also say that people from hospitality are not recognized for their work. But what most people won’t tell you is that why is it such a nice field to work in. Hospitality not only teaches you to serve people, instead it teaches you how to treat someone elegantly in a society. Hospitality industry is not just hotels or catering. Hospitality as a whole means treating, serving, communicating with people who come to you for help or to avail your service. There are people all around the globe with immense talent in food and service but they don’t pursue their dream just because the hard way that lies in front of them. They look at this like 4 years of studying and training and another 5 years of working as a helper or a commi. But what they don’t realize is that in order to be successful you will have to work hard, you will have to work in different types of situations, but you should be patient. The most important thing to remember is that you should never link your work with the pay you get. In the beginning stage the stipend amount you get does not show your work, it is the recognition from your chef, manager and the customers you serve shows your work. In the end I would just like to say that if you have the talent and the passion then don’t let anything change your mind.
