At G D Goenka University, it is our endeavour to expose the students to myriad experiences and on-the-job learning. The pedagogy ensures that students are not just occupied in classroom learning but get a broader perspective through visits, outings, participation in events and observation of important happenings. The Trade Promotion Office of the Italian Embassy organized a workshop on Italian Food and Wine with a thrust on the theme “ The Sweet Taste”. The workshop focused on the business opportunities and prospective for Italian Food and Wine in India and was held at Leela Palace, ChankyaPuri New Delhi recently. In the inaugural address Mr. Lorenzo Angelino, H.E., The ambassador of Italy to India said “The workshop aims to promote the concept of Italian Food and Wine, spread knowledge and showcase ways of expanding Italian products in Indian market. In the ensuing sessions, Indian and Italian experts demonstrated the use of olive oil, fruits and wines in cooking. Also a wine tasting session comprising of the most exquisite Italian wines and prosecco(another type of wine) was provided to participants to taste. The workshop was attended by some of the most well-known distributors, buyers, hotel chains, catering chains, chefs, importers and other major players in the food and wine sector.
