15th February, 2018. It was a delightful day for the students of School of Communication to have attended the prestigious first World Radio Festival organised by IAWRT (International Association of Women in Radio and Television) in partnership with UNESCO India and All India Radio at UNESCO New Delhi Office.



While the inauguration session had the major attraction of special addressal by Ms Deepa Mallik, Paralympic sportsperson and Padmashree Awardee Athlete, who spoke about the soulful effect of radio, post-inauguration the highlight of the session was the much-appreciated insights by well-known Sports commentator and former Assistant Director of All India Radio Mr Kulwinder Singh Kang. The first half of the session focused on the effectiveness and reach of Community Radio and the kind of revolution it had brought world over to improve the quality of life of people.



RJ Sachin from Red FM, RJ Stuti from Fever FM and Mr Gaurav, Producer, Radio Mirchi (scriptwriter for Naved Show on Radio Mirchi) shared their experiences about making impact on listeners by using creativity and ability to touch upon social issues with much ease.

At the festival, the students of SoC also got an opportunity to interact with the celebrated radio jockeys like- RJ Raunak, RJ Abhinav and RJ Lucky
