On September 2, the second day of the online orientation programme for new students of the School of Medical and Allied Sciences (SoMAS) was held. Prof. (Dr.) Anjali Midha, Dean, opened the session with a Motivating talk on Research related avenues at GD Goenka University.

Prof. Anjali Midha Saran, Dean R& D, underlined the importance of academic writing referencing and plagiarism. She inspired the student fraternity to take advantage of the GDGU's research opportunities. Following this, Prof. (Dr.) Rohit Dutt, Associate Dean Academics, discussed the importance of interdisciplinary learning and value-based courses, as well as how these courses aid in students' overall development and learning. Mr. Sushanta Bose, Director International Partnership spoke on internationalisation at G D Goenka University Student Mobility. He explained the young minds about the international exchange/dual degree programs and semester exchange opportunities with well-known foreign universities. Mr. Palash Sen, Head CRC, Explained the functioning of the corporate resource centre and the industry in facilitating training and placement to the students.  A session with parents and students with the GDGU leadership team was very fruitful to address queries of diverse nature. Orientation on the 2nd day ended up with an interaction with famous indian cricketer Atul Wasan, on The Future of Sports in India. All students have enthusiastically participated in all events.
