The GD Goenka International Centre (GDGIC) celebrated Christmas with all the international students studying at the GD Goenka University on 23rd December 2016. The students enjoyed a fun-filled evening with singing, dancing, cake-cutting followed by high tea. This was first of the many events to follow, from GDGIC.

The GDGIC is setup to provide support and assistance for all the students of GD Goenka University. It offer programs and services to help the international students before and after their arrival in India to ease their transition and making sure that their experience is safe, enjoyable and fruitful. The centre offers programs and resources for internationally minded students looking for opportunities such as student exchange/transfer, summer schools and internships outside of India. It also facilitates joint R&D and joint programmes in collaboration with top foreign Universities.

After Santa Claus welcomed everyone with Christmas wishes and goodies, the program started with an address by the current chair of GDGIC, Prof. (Dr.) Sudeep Sharma (Assistant Dean, School of Engineering) where he shared the future plans of GDGIC with the gathering. Some students shared their experience about life at GD Goenka University and how the University provides world-class facilities and congenial environment which has not only made their stay comfortable in a foreign country but also provided them the opportunity to grow holistically.

This event was also attended by the University officers and heads of various centers and departments. Everyone appreciated the initiative and enjoyed the food, drinks, Christmas carols and the performances by the students.
