An NGO, Sapno Ke Pankh, was visited by students from the School of Management at GD Goenka
University as part of their curriculum. They met differently abled children, and it was a memorable
experience. They got an insight into what exactly happens at an NGO like this. Children who are
differently abled are taught by experienced teachers, and there are a lot of activities for them. They
conducted many activities with them, such as making sketches and playing games with them, and
taught them different subjects. The visit was a great experience. We often crib about the smallest
things in our lives. They learned a lesson on how to cope with challenges and turn their weaknesses
into strengths. It’s our duty to provide each and every child access to basic education, at least up to
secondary school, and ensure that they are not deprived of their basic rights. Children are the next
generation of youth and the backbone of our country, India. If they are not guided in the right
direction, how will the country run? Thus, there is a need to create awareness to stop evil practises
like child labour, female foeticide, child harassment, etc.
