Workshop on ‘Encouraging Young Minds in Participating in Research Projects and Conferences’ conducted by Ms. Raveena Negi.

On April 28, 2022, Dr. Raveena Negi, Assistant Professor of SoAS conducted a one-day
workshop on ‘Encouraging Young Minds to participate in Research Projects and presentation of
their findings in different national and international conferences’.

‘Research is an integral part of learning’ – says Dr. Negi. She further emphasized the importance
of research for students in the field of agricultural science, highlighting that research provides an
opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience and develop critical thinking and problem-
solving skills. Additionally, she discussed the importance of presenting research findings at
conferences as it provides students with a platform to showcase their work, network with
professionals in their field, and gain exposure to current trends and developments.

During the workshop, students received guidance on the research process, including selecting a
research topic, conducting literature reviews, and designing research experiments. They were
also provided with tips on how to prepare and present their findings at conferences, including
creating engaging presentations and communicating their findings effectively.

Dr. Negi also discussed the opportunities available for students to participate in different
research projects and present at conferences. She highlighted that students who engage in
research activities are often more competitive in the job market, as they demonstrate their
commitment to their field and their ability to contribute to the advancement of knowledge.
In conclusion, the workshop led by Dr. Negi was an encouragement and motivating for the
young minds to participate in research projects and also to present their findings at conferences.
This would instill self-confidence, team work and innovative skills in the students.
