Goenka Idol

Music binds our souls, hearts, and emotions. It cheers the spirit and lightens the heart. To
bring out the singing talent of students, Goenka Idol Season 5 was organized on 20 April
2022 in University Auditorium. The theme was based on ‘‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’’ as the
government has taken initiative to celebrate 75 years of independence and the glory of its
people, the spirit of the freedom struggle, and tribute to the martyrs and achievements. The
Chief guests invited were Mr.Tabrez Ahmed, also vice-chancellor of our prestigious
university, Mr. Gurbachan Singh & Ms. Moumita who also joined as Judges with two of
our teachers, Ms. Meha Prasad & Mr. Amaresh Jha. There was a colorful welcome by
the lightning of the lamp. It was accompanied by a melodious Sarawasati Vandana, hailing
the goodness of knowledge and wisdom. It was followed by a welcome speech given by our
mentor Ms.Meha Prasad The participants came from different universities. Each participant
prepared a patriotic song. The participants sang the songs with lots of passion, confidence,
and patriotic feeling. The melodious songs pulled the heartstrings of the audience. Each
student showed their mastery over voice modulation, pitch, rhythm, and tone. Every student
from Bjmc VIth gave their contribution to this event.
The Judges, Mr. Gurbachan Singh and Ms.Moumita thoroughly enjoyed the mellifluous
songs. They were impressed with the confidence, tonal quality, and passion with which they
sang the Patriotic songs. The winner of Goenka Idol Season 5 is Anmol Verma and the first
runner up is Arindam Naryan & second runner up Akash Prasad. All the participants and
judges were taken to a refractory and provided with refreshments. The day was truly special
for all at GDGU Gurgaon, which left memories to be treasured for a lifetime.
