Bio-entrepreneurship as career opportunity & role of Bio-incubators to support entrepreneurial journey


The ‘Department of Biological Sciences’ organized a 2h session on the topic ‘Bio-entrepreneurship as Career Opportunity & Role of Bio- incubators to support Entrepreneurial Journey' under the programme IDEA (Ignite & Develop Entrepreneurial Aptitude) on 3 rd Feb 2020 for the students of Bachelors and Masters programmes of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Pharmacy and Agriculture. The speakers were ‘Ms. Suman Gupta (Chief Operations Officer) and Mr. Sudhanshu Shekhar (Business Development Manager) from BSC BioNEST Bio- Incubator, Regional Centre for Biotechnology, DBT. 

The objective of the session was to motivate and expose the young minds for fostering Indian biotech innovation and entrepreneurship and help start-ups nurture their innovative ideas and develop globally competitive products or technologies. The students were made aware of
the role of Bio-incubators in entrepreneurial journey and details of the facilities offered by Bio-incubators & government funding support for start-ups.

This talk aimed for graduate and postgraduate students of Biological Sciences, Forensic Science, Medical and Allied Sciences and Agriculture. Approximately 80 students got benefited from this talk.
