The School of Education, G D Goenka University strives to foster a sense of caring and commitment as part of its education of student-teachers with the hope that they will incorporate community service in their professional and personal lives. Every Saturday, the student-teachers individually volunteer their time to community outreach programmes that respond to the needs of the sick, elderly, differently-abled, poor, homeless, young or under-privileged sections of the society.
On April 07, 2018 our student-teachers undertook a spectrum of activities such as teaching counting and basic mathematics through games, puzzles and rhymes, role play on Good Manners’, paper folding, awareness building on ‘I can be Safe: Understanding Good Touch, Bad Touch’, organizing extempore for children on topics like ‘My Dream’ and extending support to the NGOs in organizing health check-up camps.
