Prof.(Dr.) S. Shanthakumar elected as a member of the Governing Board of IUCN- Academy of Environmental Law
Prof.(Dr.) S. Shanthakumar , Pro-Vice –Chancellor and Dean, School of Law has been elected as a member of the Governing Board of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Academy of Environmental Law. The elections were conducted on 7th July, 2018 at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK. He represents South and West Asia.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is an international organization working in the field ofnature conservation and sustainable use ofnatural resources.Since its establishment in 1948, IUCN has become the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it. The knowledge and the tools IUCN provides are critical for ensuring that human progress, economic development and nature conservation take place together.
