On November 18, 2024, the School of Management, GD Goenka University, organized a one-day workshop titled “Empowering School Teachers: Team Building, Emotional Intelligence, and Well-Being” for the teachers of PM Shri Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Indri Nuh (Mewat). The event aimed to provide educators with tools to enhance collaboration, emotional resilience, and technical skills, ultimately improving their effectiveness in creating supportive learning environments.
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Smitha Girija, Dean of the School of Management, and Mr. Major Karttikeya Sharma, Administrator of the GDGU Group. Dr. Nusrat Khan, Area Chair (HR), then provided an engaging overview of the day’s program, setting a positive tone for the sessions ahead.
Key highlights of the workshop included:
- National Education Policy (NEP) Presentation: Ms. Sumana Dutta Sarkar delivered an insightful presentation on NEP 2020, helping teachers understand its objectives and implications for modern education practices.
- Team-Building Activities: Interactive activities encouraged teamwork and collaboration, fostering stronger professional relationships among participants.
- Emotional Intelligence Sessions: Conducted by Dr. Swati Sesodia and Dr. Prabha Arya, these sessions emphasized self-awareness, empathy, and emotional resilience, equipping teachers to better manage classroom dynamics and personal well-being.
- Technical Skill Development: Dr. Ashu led a session on integrating technology into teaching practices, enhancing teachers’ technical competence and classroom engagement strategies.
The workshop concluded with a feedback session, where participants shared their positive experiences and takeaways. Prof. (Dr.) Kim Menezes, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of GD Goenka University, delivered the closing remarks, commending the efforts of both organizers and participants.
