The Bachelor of Education programme aims to prepare reflective and competent humane teachers. At School of Education GDGU focus is on learning outcome based education. Student- teachers are given exposure to repertoire of pedagogical skills that they can use while teaching in global scenario.(Government, Private, Government aided, International and World Schools) At School of Education Student- teachers are encouraged to be creative and innovative. The programme focuses on initiating and enhancing educational discourse by organizing seminars, debates, lectures and discussions for student- teachers. The highlights of the programme are to make the student- teachers organize and participate in intra-institutional and inter-institutional activities on themes of educational significance. A participatory teaching approach is adopted to help student- teachers develop into thinking professionals. The focus is also on developing research aptitude and critical thinking so that after the completion of this programme students of School of Education may have enhanced opportunities in further studies, research, and jobs.
Programme Structure
Perspectives in Education – Childhood and Growing up, Contemporary India and Education, Learning and Teaching, Gender, School and Society, Knowledge and Curriculum, Creating an Inclusive School, Health, Yoga and Physical Education.
Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies – Language across the Curriculum, Pedagogy of two School Subjects and Assessment of Learning.
Engagement with the field – Tasks and Assignments that run through all the courses, School Internship, Reading and Reflecting on Texts, Arts in Education, Understanding ICT and its Application and Life Long Learning (LLL).
Internship: The programme also includes a comprehensive School Experience Programme (SEP).Internship is enriched with activities that requires sustained engagement not only with learners but with school and communities as well.
Integrated B.A. /B.Sc. - B.Ed. Programme equip student-teachers with the basic knowledge and skills of sciences, social sciences, humanities and education. Such knowledge and skills would help teachers to teach in the 21st century classroom of upper primary and secondary school students and address issues concerning their development as global citizens. To initiate the discourse on education and to provide a strong professional base through diverse educational experiences, School of Education regularly organises seminars, debates, lectures and discussion groups for student-teachers.

The Master of Arts (Education) Programme is an innovative programme, which would provide learners a wider and comprehensive understanding of education as a field of knowledge and thus would accommodate a wide variety of learner needs. Needs may range from understanding the concept of education to knowing how knowledge gets generated in the area of education and to acquiring higher levels of specific aspects of education. As per the norms of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), one of the academic eligibility criteria of becoming a teacher educator is to have M.A. (Education) degree in order to teach the foundation courses, hence the importance of this programme. The Programme is delivered through seminars, workshops, tutorials and lectures. Experiential Learning is an integral component of the curriculum. MBA (Educational Leadership and Management) Programme is a flagship programme of the G D Goenka Group, a pioneer in education. This will would provide students a wider and comprehensive understanding of education as a field of knowledge and relate it with various aspects of leadership and management. The programme inculcates skills in students to manage educational institutions, and other organizations. The Program is structured to develop competencies such as curriculum development, management of finances, resolving conflicts, conducting outreach programs, understanding legal aspects of education. Educational Technology is emerging as a new discipline. The growing popularity of this discipline lies in the advantages of integrating technology in the instructional system. The advantages are multifarious and may pertain to registration, delivery of instructions, the overall management of educational institutions and so on. Among these processes, the teacher is mainly concerned with delivering instructions and the application of educational technology is becoming indispensable for this process. Also, in keeping with the demands of the knowledge society, transaction of knowledge has to be freed from the confines of the classrooms and made available round the clock, at places convenient for the learner. Even within the classroom, technology is to be used to strengthen the constructive approach to learning, whereby learners become the active seekers of knowledge. Therefore, from the sporadic use of technology, we have to move towards its seamless integration into the teaching –learning system. For this merely the skills to use technologies is not enough but it requires us to take several steps further and be able to use technology as a tool for imparting instructions. Hence, proficiency for selection of technology, designing instructions based on pedagogic principles, using technology effectively for reaching out to learners, making education a collaborative process and so on are necessary.
