Over the decades, automation has become a standardised production tool empowering manufacturers to gain better control of their operations and production processes. With automation’s ability to streamline repetitive, hazardous, and tedious tasks, an automated system can perform load/unload tasks, processing, inspection, assembling or handling of parts unattended or lights out allowing one employee to work on several machines or other jobs at the same time.
Bosch Rexroth India, one of the global market leaders in the area of Industrial Automation has recently entered into an MoU with GD Goenka University. Under this MoU, the University has established a Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0 with products & technology supplied by Bosch Rexroth and this Centre of Excellence will be utilised for Training or Upskilling of the students, faculties & industry personnel on topics like PLCs, IIoT, SCADA & Industry 4.0.
Bosch Rexroth will render all the required assistance or technical support to GD Goenka in the form of conducting Internships, providing Industry projects, Industrial Visits, supporting Technical events or providing Job Opportunities. Continuing our mission to elevate the skills of students, faculty members, and industry professionals, GD Goenka University proudly unveils the ‘"Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0” within the esteemed School of Engineering & Sciences in partnership with Bosch Rexroth on 10th January 2024.
Our university is associating with Rexroth Bosch as the first and only institute in India to adopt Bosch Rexroth's CtrlX Automation platform, offering a state-of-the-art facility in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA). Elevating the standards of education and technological proficiency, our university takes pride in this avant-garde initiative, setting new benchmarks in innovation and automation excellence.
Training & Certification Program
The “Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0” offers a certificate program in industrial automation technologies for Diploma and Engineering students of different streams. The duration of the certificate program varies for beginners and experts. Students have the option to choose a different level of training program and enhance their skill level. A one-week program has been designed for the certificate program for beginners and two-week programs for the intermediate level during the months of June-July and November-December of the current year. The combined certificate will be awarded by the GD Goenka University & BOSCH Rexroth India after the successful training.
The Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0 offers an automation training program for the industryworking people to enhancetheirskills and adapt to the changes to work on the latest IoT technology. The Centre of Excellence provides a platform for industrial personnel to learn automation technologies and do hands-on training on PLC, SCADA, HMI & Electro-pneumatics. A one-monthexecutive training program has been designed for industrial people during the months of June-July and November-December of the currentyear.
The “ Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0” hasoffered 3-4 thmonths of summerinternship for undergraduatestudents of professional courses during the May and July months and twomonths of winterinternship of the currentyear. The combinedcertificatewillbeawarded by the GD Goenka University& BOSCH RexrothIndia at the completeion of the successful training.
The centre of excellence in Industry 4.0 provides the companywith a platform to migratefrommanual to automatedoperation. This centre helps the industry to convertitsexisting line of assembly to an automatedassembly line. This research centre facilitates the solution to the company for faster&quality production.
