Prof. Rohit DuttAssociate Dean
Dr. Rohit Dutt is a medicinal chemist with expertise in computer aided drug design. He has taught courses on pharmaceutical chemistry and analysis for nearly 14 years at several higher education institutions. Some of the mathematical tools he developed for drug design have been incorporated in software being marketed by various multinational companies. Rohit has established a profound standing in industry and research institutions as an outstanding medicinal chemist.
Prior to taking up the current role, Rohit served as Professor and Head, Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy, Yamunangar, Haryana. Before moving into academics, Rohit worked at the Stability and Validation Cell of Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, a large Indian pharmaceutical company with a global presence.
His knowledge and competency in computer aided drug design enabled him to conduct significant research in diverse areas. He has more than 40 research andreview publications, predominantly in reputed international journals.
Rohit earned a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from M. D. University, Rohtak; M. Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical chemistry from G. J. University, Hisar; and B. Pharmacy from Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology and Sciences, Dehradun. He also completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Cheminformatics from Bioinformatics Institute of India and a Professional Diploma in Clinical Research from Catalyst Clinical Services Limited, Delhi.
As a member of the University’s senior management team, Rohit Dutt has developed a comprehensive strategy for improving and refining the student-learning experience through clinical engagements with leading healthcare organizations. Rohit staunchly believes in promoting a strong and positive environment of scholarly learning for both students and faculty, to iron out all the challenges associated to 4th Industrial Revolution, and outshine in the glory of knowledge and wisdom.
