The Department of Basic and Applied Sciences DBAS at School of Engineering and Sciences successfully organized a one-day Hands-on Workshop on ‘Real-Time PCR in Molecular Biology’ in collaboration with DSS Image Tech., New Delhi, on 6 November 2025.

The workshop commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, followed by an insightful keynote session by Mr. Tapash Chakraborty, Business Head, DSS Image Tech., New Delhi.

The workshop provided participants from Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Forensic Sciences programs with hands-on training in setting up and running Real-Time PCR assays, focusing on troubleshooting techniques, optimization of reaction conditions, and data interpretation. Participants also gained deeper insights into the latest advancements in molecular biology techniques and the real-world applications of quantitative PCR in research and diagnostics.

The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Sharma, HoD, DBAS, Prof. Anindita Roy Choudhury, Assistant Dean, Prof. Seema Mishra, Chairperson, CARE, and other distinguished faculty members of SoES, whose presence greatly motivated the students and enriched the event.
