MTech in Aerospace Engineering 2-year program focuses mainly on those students who wish to get their postgraduate degree by doing courses plus pure research.
You study for 1 year at our Aerospace Department, and the second year is dedicated to either pure research or pure internship. The Aerospace Department also offers 1 year mobility abroad in the second year where the students can study for the second year in our international partners or can choose to go for a 6 month internship in the prestigious research labs of France, Italy, UK, USA, Korea, and many others.
M. Tech Aerospace Engineering Specialisations
In the first year, the student has to take the mandatory courses that is common to all and take elective courses for specialization in Aerospace Engineering. The elective courses are offered at postgraduate level and includes Aeronautics, Space Technology or Computational Fluid Dynamics
Airport Transport Pilot License
In addition, the student can extend for another 18 months more to do a 6-month flying internship and the student will be paid for the internship as per the number of hours the student flies. Then at the end of the six months, the student will have to take job offers and keep flying to accumulate 1500 flying hours to get their Airport Transport Pilot License (ATPL). At this point, the student may work for an airline and he or she will have a valid FAA Pilot License which is the most prestigious in the world.
Master’s in Aerospace Engineering International Mobility – Internship
The Aerospace Department also offers all Master’s students to study one year abroad in their area of specialization or to be able to have a 6-month research internship abroad as per their choice. It can be in the form of student exchange, studying one year abroad for second Masters degree or research in a research lab or internship in an organization.
Master’s Second Year is Pure Internship and Research
The second year of the Master’s program, it is comprised of pure research and/or internship to allow the students to learn through experiential learning and/ or internship in a research facility or aerospace organization across the world. Thus the students take their courses in the first year and conduct research or internship in the second year. The internships are specialised international internships outside of India.
Pathway to Pilot Program for MTech
There is also an optional Pathway to Pilot Program for MTech Aerospace Students so that they can study their first year at our University and go for a flying school in USA in their second year. They will also get their Commercial Pilot License which allows them to fly as commercial pilots across the world. This is a good way to get both your MTech Aerospace Engineering degree as well as your Commercial Pilot License at the end of 2 years. There are special loans available for students as this offer comes with a Job guarantee as a pilot at the end of your program along with an availability to stay in the USA for 2 more years after receiving your Pilot’s License.
M. Tech with Specialisation in Computational Fluid Dynamics
Study Computational Fluid Dynamics under the Aerospace Engineering Department and get an MTech CFD under the Aerospace Department.
