Apply the principles of genetics and plant breeding to design and implement sustainable crop improvement programs aimed at enhanced yield, quality, and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses.

Develop innovative solutions and tools using plant breeding, bioinformatics, and statistical techniques to address challenges in crop improvement and ensure global food security.

Students graduating with M.Sc. Agriculture (Genetics and Plant Breeding) Degree will be able to.
Demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
Analyze and evaluate critical issues in specialised domain and propose economically viable and environmentally sustainable solutions and policies for remunerative ecological farming.
Conduct independent research /investigation and development work using design of experiment, statistical tools, analysis and interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions to complex problems.
Analyze, evaluate and design improved tecniques, process and products using modern cutting edge tools and technologies in solving the complex problems of crop production, protection and improvement
Apply ethical principles in research and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adherence to intellectural property rights and national and international laws.
Comprehend, design and publish scientific reports and make effective presentation considering cultural, language and learning differences.
