M.Design - Interior Architecture & Design
The Postgraduate Program in Interior Architecture is designed for advanced learners seeking deeper critical, technical, and research-oriented engagement with spatial design, built on intensive learning over 4 semesters (2 years).
Building on undergraduate competencies, the program emphasises theoretical grounding, material culture studies, advanced construction systems, and specialised studios that address contemporary challenges in interior environments. Students undertake modules in research methods, writing, semiotics, and interdisciplinary inquiry, enabling them to analyse spatial practices through historical, cultural, and technological lenses. Varied subject offerings allow focused exploration in areas such as AI, sustainability, experiential environments, craft studies, architectural technologies, and design communication.
Studio projects encourage experimentation with complex programmatic needs, emerging materials, and systems-driven design. The program also incorporates industry exposure, on-the-job training, and collaborative work with experts. The culminating Graduation Project enables students to synthesise research, design rigour, and professional documentation into a comprehensive thesis project. The PG program cultivates practitioners equipped for leadership in interior architecture.
Program Specialisation
Experience design takes center stage, focusing on enhancing user experiences and crafting culturally resonant solutions for retail spaces, exhibitions, and museums. Industry immersion, including internships and project engagements, equips students for seamless integration into professional environments. Hands-on workshops, augmented by expert presentations, enrich theoretical understanding, while immersive tours augment real-world insights.
Our curriculum encourages diverse thinking, broadening students’ perspectives on spatial design. We focus on developing their skills and understanding of global interior and furniture design standards. Students are prepared to adapt to changing creative markets and contribute effectively. Faculty promote interdisciplinary mindsets and experiences that go beyond spatial contexts to influence individual behavior. We offer diverse global opportunities in a supportive environment, fostering user-centric design approaches. Our institute provides state-of-the-art workshops for real prototyping and offers mentorship from experienced academics and industry professionals. We oversee student internships and placements, prioritizing valuable experience with renowned designers and organizations in interior and furniture design.
