B.Sc. Nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
The B.Sc. nursing degree program is a four-year full-time program comprising eight semesters, which prepares B.Sc. nursing graduates qualified to practice nursing and midwifery in a variety of settings.
It adopts credit system and semester system as per the Authority guidelines. The program encompasses foundational, core and elective courses.The program prepares nurses and midwives for generalist nursing including midwifery practice. Knowledge acquisition related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management and care of the dying is core to nursing practice.Students are provided with opportunities to learn a whole range of skills in addition to acquiring knowledge related to nursing practice.
Program Specialisation
The revised curriculum embraces competency-based and outcome-based approach throughout the program integrating mastery learning and self-directed learning. Transformational and relationship based educational approaches are emphasized. Through the educational process the students assimilate and synthesize knowledge, cultivate critical thinking skills and develop care strategies. Competencies that reflect practice standards of the Council address the areas of cultural diversity, communication technology, teamwork and collaboration, safety, quality, therapeutic interventions and evidence- based practice. They are prepared to provide safe and competent care to patients across life span and influence patient outcomes.

Apply concepts & theories related to health promotion and Perform physical, psychosocial assessment of patients.

Recognize and manage emergencies in patients and apply Nursing process in providing care to patients.

Integrate the concept of family centered nursing care with associated disorder such as genetic, congenital and long-term illness
PSO 04
Describe various recent technologies & treatment modalities in the management of critically ill patients and appreciate the role of alternative systems of Medicine in care of patients and those requiring rehabilitation.

Describe the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology and diagnostic assessment of critically ill patients as per various body system.
PSO 06
Develop a broad understanding of Fundamental Principles, concepts, trends and issues related to education and nursing education. Further, it would provide opportunity to students to understand, appreciate and acquire skills in teaching and evaluation, curriculum development, implementation, maintenance of standards and accreditation of various nursing educational programs.
PSO 07
Develop concepts and constructs of theoretical basis of advance nursing practice and critically analyze different theories of nursing and other disciplines.
PSO 08
Acquire an understanding of the research methodology and statistical methods as a basis for identifying research problem, planning and implementing a research plan. It will further enable the students to evaluate research studies and utilize research findings to improve quality of nursing practice, education and management.
PSO 09
Develop a broad understanding of Principles, concepts, trends and issues related to nursing management. Further, it would provide opportunity to students to understand, appreciate and acquire skills in planning, supervision and management of nursing services at different levels to provide quality nursing services.

B.Sc. Nursing (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) Admission Requirement
- The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission shall be 35 years.
- Candidate with Science who have passed the qualifying 12th Standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
- Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
- English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B.Sc. (Nursing).
- Colour blind candidates are eligible provided that colour corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
- Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
- Students shall be admitted once in a year.
- Candidates must have appeared in the NEET examination.
Selection of candidates will be based on the merit of the entrance examination. Entrance test** shall comprise of:
