Awareness Session on Cyber Hygiene

The School of Engineering and Sciences along with DSW organized an Awareness Session on Cyber Hygiene on 29 October 2025 at the UID Auditorium, GD Goenka University. The session aimed to educate students and faculty members about safe online practices, responsible digital behaviour, and the importance of cyber hygiene in today’s technology-driven world.

The event commenced with the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp in the presence of Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Shenoy; Dean of School of Engineering & Sciences, Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy; Assistant Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Anindita Roy Chowdhury; other Event Coordinators, Dr. Yogesh Kumar and Dr. Prerna Sharma were present along with First Year Coordinator, Dr. Sunanda. This was followed by an introduction emphasizing the growing need for cyber awareness. The first talk, ‘Cyber Suraksha’, was delivered by Mr. Hanuman Yadav and Mr. Amit Yadav from the Special Task Force (STF), Gurugram, Haryana Police, who highlighted real-life cybercrime cases and shared tips on protecting personal data and avoiding online frauds.

Mr. Daksh Mehta, faculty member of the School of Engineering & Sciences, explained the ‘Essence of Cyber Hygiene’ and its significance in maintaining digital well-being. The final session on ‘Good Practices for Digital Hygiene’, conducted by Mr. Varun and Mr. Manish, senior students of the School, focused on password safety, secure browsing, and data protection techniques.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A, where participants clarified doubts and shared experiences. Overall, the event successfully raised awareness about cybersecurity and encouraged students to become vigilant and responsible digital citizens.
