Centre of Indian Knowledge systems (CIKS) at GD Goenka University is dedicated to promoting and preserving India’s rich intellectual heritage.
The centre serves as a hub for interdisciplinary learning, integrating ancient wisdom with contemporary knowledge to address modern challenges. Through specialized courses, workshops, and research initiatives, the centre aims to foster intellectual inquiry, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of India's knowledge traditions.
Vision
The vision of CIKS is to rejuvenate and mainstream Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) for the contemporary world in alignment with societal needs. The centre seeks to bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and modern disciplines, ensuring the relevance of IKS in today's academic and professional landscapes.
Objectives
CIKS aligns with the objectives set by the UGC-IKS Division, Ministry of Education, Government of India, emphasizing:
- Parampara – The continuous knowledge traditions of Bharata since time immemorial.
- Drishti – Unique perspectives that make this knowledge system ‘Indian’ and valuable to the world.
- Laukika Prayojana – Practical applications of IKS to solve contemporary and emerging global challenges.
