Ms. Snigdha Banerjee

By consciously resisting the fossilized patterns of 21st-century urban life—often mediated by artificial intelligence—Snigdha Banerjee finds herself drawn to the sensibilities of medieval India and its rich folklore.

A committed practitioner of Indian art, she reimagines herself as a single-headed female Ravana, concealing multiple creative heads beneath the adorned veil of storytelling. As a multidisciplinary artist, she continually expands her practice, blurring the boundaries between Visual, Narrative, and Performing Arts, enabling learners to engage deeply with material, culture, and context.

With over a decade of experience in Design Education, she has taught across levels—from Design Minor and Foundation programs to Master’s courses—and contributed to Curriculum Development, Programme Building, Academic Leadership and Interdisciplinary Design Education. Her pedagogy integrates visual literacy, narrative thinking, and cultural studies within studio-based and experiential learning. Drawing inspiration from the forgotten and magical past, she seeks to reinterpret Heritage as a living resource—one that informs and enriches contemporary practice while shaping future-facing design education.
