The Department of Optometry, School of Healthcare and Allied Sciences, organized an Eye Screening Camp for the blue-collared employees of GD Goenka Educational City. Mr. Krishna Kumar Gupta and Mr. Jai Prabhat Ranjan, aimed to provide comprehensive eye examinations for the blue-collared employees of GD Goenka education city, with a focus on identifying any existing eye conditions and refractive errors as vision is important for every role. The camp aimed to prioritize the eye health of our non-teaching, technical staff, bus drivers, and cleaning staff. This initiative is not just about ensuring clear vision but also about recognizing and appreciating the diverse roles that contribute to the university’s success. During the event, Mr. Gupta and Mr. Ranjan conducted thorough examinations for the employees, ensuring that each individual received personalized attention. For those requiring corrective measures, the optometrists prescribed suitable glass prescriptions to enhance their vision. The goal of the workshop was not only to screen for eye-related issues among the employees but also to instill in students a profound understanding of the necessity for community eye care services. Moreover, the camp served as a practical platform and community interaction for students to grasp the intricacies of organizing an eye screening camp, including the importance of accurate record-keeping and maintaining the good health of community. Students were actively involved in learning the procedures involved in conducting such events, ensuring that they gained valuable insights into the logistics and processes required. In a commendable move towards promoting eye health, subsidized spectacle lenses were provided to employees in need, further underscoring the commitment to ensuring access to essential eye care services.
